Privacy Policy

Last updated: 20 August 2025

RenTyno (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates a car-rental comparison service. This policy describes how we collect, use, share, and protect your information when you use our website and services.

1) What we collect

  • Usage data: pages viewed, clicks, device and browser information, IP address, approximate location.
  • Inquiry/booking data you submit: name, email, phone, pick-up/drop-off details, preferences, and any notes you provide.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: identifiers that help us run the site, remember your choices, and measure performance (see “Cookies” below).

2) How we use your information

  • To provide the comparison results and operate our website.
  • To forward your inquiry/booking details directly to the selected rental company so they can process your request.
  • To communicate with you about your inquiry or booking and provide support.
  • To improve our services, prevent fraud, and ensure security.
  • Where permitted, to send service-related notices and, with your consent, optional marketing messages (you can opt out at any time).

3) Sharing of data

Direct transmission to rental companies: When you choose a rental company, the personal data you provide on the form is sent to that company so they can manage your reservation. Those companies act as independent controllers of your data under their own privacy policies.

We may also share limited data with trusted providers who help us host the site, send emails, analyze traffic, and detect fraud—strictly under contracts that require confidentiality and security. We do not sell your personal data.

4) Retention

We keep your inquiry/booking data in our databases only for as long as needed to process your request, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. After this period, we delete or anonymize the data.

5) Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to:

  • Essential: enable core features (session management, security).
  • Preferences: remember choices such as language and currency.
  • Analytics: understand usage to improve the site (e.g., aggregate statistics).
  • Advertising (optional): measure and tailor ads if enabled.

You can manage cookies via our cookie banner and your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may impact functionality.

6) Legal bases

Depending on your location, we process data on the basis of: performance of a contract (to transmit and manage your booking request), legitimate interests (site operation, security, improvements), legal obligations, and—where required—your consent (e.g., for certain cookies or marketing).

7) Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing, and to data portability. You can also withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

8) International transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries different from yours. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards to protect your data.

9) Security

We implement technical and organizational measures to protect personal data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we aim to use industry-standard protections.

10) Children

Our services are not directed to children under the age applicable in your jurisdiction. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, please contact us to request deletion.

11) Third-party websites

Links to rental companies or other third parties are subject to their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for their practices.

12) Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new “Last updated” date.

13) Contact
